Fruit of the Spirit - Kindness

Our first devotional on kindness is from Uncle Kei, an adult member of the English congregation. He is also one of our elders and have taught high school Sunday School many years ago! Let's see what words of wisdom he has on kindness and how it relates to us being Christians!

Kindness and Christianity - Kei Gee (Elder, English Congregation)

What is kindness?
It is the result of our hearts being transformed into God's likeness and it has action.
It doesn't mean to allow people to walk all over us but rather be sensitive to peoples' needs at the moment with a loving heart without being asked. Am I kind to all or just people we like?  It is always easy to kind to those we like but Jesus wants us to be kind to all just as He was kind to all.

This is important to show kindness in our Christian walk as we live in this broken world.  As an old saying goes, actions are louder than words.  Whenever we respond or react to a situation, do we start with a heart of kindness and think how can I help him or her so that he or she can feel better and safer? Our kindness can be anything from financial, intellectual, physical or emotional.  The main thing is to show our kindness towards people so they know and experience our care.  Sometimes, just being there with our friends is sufficient.  This act of kindness demonstrated God's love in us that flow out to others.  And that speaks louder than any religious discussion or debate.  Kindness expects nothing in return for our action.
Just imagine what our world be like when everyone is kind to one another.

Philippians 4:5  "... Let your kindness be an evident to all ...."
